body paragraph example
Example for paragraphs 2-4 (the body paragraphs/the evidence which you choose to support your thesis)
example thesis: Christopher McCandless was too innocent of a person
example point: Nature is no place for an innocent person.
Innocence is often considered an appealing or positive quality. Someone who is innocent is generally a likeable character worthy of admiration. However, in Into the Wild, Christopher McCandless was simply too innocent. To succeed in the world he had chosen, Christopher needed some very specific characteristics. He had chosen to live in a harsh, natural environment., which would test his very limits. Unfortunately, he was not suited to his world. When it came time to shoot an elk, he could not do it because it was with her calf. As he eventually died of starvation, this was obviously a poor choice. He was also unprepared for all of the demands of the harsh environment from the lack of food, the cold and the ever-changing landscape. This eventually led to his death when his escape route home was cut off by a raging river swollen by spring floods. A less innocent person would have had a greater understanding of the ways of the outdoors and would not have suffered in the same way. Finally, his innocence was shown in the fact that he mistook one safe plant for another dangerous one, also leading to his death. If he was less innocent, he would have understood that nature can be very dangerous and would not have made such a mistake. Innocence can be a wonderful thing. It can be a positive, endearing quality. However, in the harsh environment of the Alaskan wilderness, it can also be fatal It was for Christopher McCandless in Into the Wild. It may be a unfair criticism of this fine yoiung man, but it is certainly true that Chris was simply too innocent to survive in his harsh new world.
